Stevie Nicks emerged in the music scene when she joined the legendary band Fleetwood Mac in 1975. Fleetwood Mac was already nine albums in, and Nicks joined the recording for the self-titled tenth effort (also known as the White Album). Due to Nicks’ pop-rock-sounding vocals, Fleetwood Mac’s self-titled tenth album topped the Billboard 200 chart, which spawned the singles “Over My Head,” “Rhiannon,” and “Say You Love Me.” The album was eventually certified seven-time platinum after selling over seven million copies. Since then, Nicks helped make Fleetwood Mac one of the best-selling bands of all time, with over 120 million records sold worldwide.
In 1981, Nicks dropped her debut solo album, Bella Donna. The record topped the Billboard 200 chart and was later certified quadruple platinum in the U.S. Bella Donna featured Nicks’ massive hit singles, “Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around,” “Leather and Lace,” and “Edge of Seventeen.” In 2016, Billboard published a list, Greatest of All Time Billboard 200 Albums chart, where Bella Donna was ranked at number 184. Nicks released seven more solo albums, including the compilation record 24 Karat Gold: Songs from the Vault.
Stevie Nicks had received numerous accolades for her body of work. She is a two-time Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee for her work with Fleetwood Mac and her solo career. She has been nominated for eight Grammy Awards for her work as a solo artist and won two Grammy Awards with Fleetwood Mac.
