There's a whole lot of country coming to Shoreline Amphitheatre on Thursday 16th August 2018 with Lady Antebellum, Darius Rucker & Russell Dickerson taking to the stage as part of their Summer Plays On Tour!
“For us as a band, being out on the road together is where it all comes to life,” says Lady Antebellum's Charles Kelley in a press release. “Darius is one of our closest friends, and so we just feel really excited to get to share this tour and those memories on and off stage with him. There’s no doubt that it’s going to be a total blast, and we’re thrilled to have Russell out with us too this summer — we’re already brainstorming ways to shake things up and make each night all about just being in the moment.”
Beginning his career in the late 1980s, Darius Rucker quickly shot to fame as frontman of Hootie and the Blowfish, whose sixteen-times platinum-selling debut album Cracked Rear View (1994) became the best-selling album of 1995 and one of the fast-selling debut albums of all time. Having released his neo-soul influenced debut solo album Back to Then in 1992, Rucker signed to Capitol Nashville in 2008 and embarked on a country career. Learn to Live, his first release on Capitol Nashville, was released later that year and its first single, "Don't Think I Don't Think About It", made him the first black artist to reach number one on the Hot Country Songs charts since 1983. Since then, Rucker has released five more country albums, winning a Grammy Award for his 2013 cover of “Wagon Wheel”.
