Arcade fire is a fresh indie rock band based in Montreal, consisting of husband and wife Win Butler and Régine Chassagnealong with Richard Reed Parry, William Butler, Tim Kingsbury and Jeremy Gara. The band was founded in 2001 but it wasn't until 2004 with the release of their critically acclaimed debut album 'Funeral', that people started to really notice their presence in the indie rock world.
The album picked up multiple awards including A Grammy for Album of The Year in 2011. The Juno Award for Album of the Year, and the 2011 Brit Award for Best International Album which was for their third studio recorded album.
Known for their multi-instrumental performances, which include guitar, drums, bass guitar, piano, violin, viola, cello, double bass, xylophone, glockenspiel, keyboard, synthesizer, French horn, accordion, harp, mandolin, and hurdy-gurdy.
